Sotto Studio was born from a season of rebuilding.
Like many people, there have been chapters in my life that unfolded very differently to how I imagined they would. Some brought joy, some brought loss, and some left me searching for a new sense of direction.
For many years my focus was elsewhere. Building a business. Meeting responsibilies. Managing expectations. Looking after everyone and everything around me.
Then came a season where life became quieter.
At first, that quiet felt unfamiliar.
Over time it became something else.
Space
Space to think.
Space to reflect.
Space to ask what truly mattered to me.
What I discovered was that I was being drawn towards making.
Towards clay.
Towards fibre.
Towards writing.
Towards the simple act of creating something with my hands.
What began as curiosity gradually became something much deeper. Making became a way of understanding myself and the world around me. A way of processing experiences. A way of finding beauty, meaning and calm again.
Sotto Studio is not the destination.
It is a part of the journey.
A creative path that continues to unfold one piece at a time.
And perhaps that is what rebuilding really is.
Not becoming someone new.
But slowly returning to who you have always been beneath the surface.
