Why Italy Keeps Calling Me Back

___________________________

There are places we visit and enjoy.
And then there are
places that stay with us after we leave.

I think about mornings spent sitting beneath striped awnings while cafés slowly fill with locals.

The sound of cups being placed on marble counters.

Laundry moving gently above narrow streets.

The late afternoon light turning old buildings the colour of honey.

The feeling that there is nowhere I urgently need to be.

_______

It is not one landmark or one city.

It is the rhythm of everyday life.

The way a simple lunch can stretch into the afternoon.

The slow conversations.

The time given to the small, unnoticed moments.

A slower coffee. A longer walk.

An evening wandering without a destination.

_______

"Italy reminds me that there is
another way to move through a day."

_______

In a world that often feels fast and demanding, Italy shows me a way that leaves space for beauty, for connection, for simply being present.

Perhaps that is why Italy keeps calling me back.

Not because I have seen everything. Quite the opposite.

Each time I return, there is another street to wander, another morning coffee to linger over, another small corner of life waiting to be noticed.

And somewhere between the sea, the villages and the rhythm of everyday life, I find myself wanting to stay a little longer.
